Marian Byrne

An experienced, passionate, versatile professional - Marian began her journey as an actor at a very early age being involved in talent competitions and variety shows. She was born and raised in Ireland but has lived the last 36 years in Australia. She is a down to earth, dedicated actor who has enjoyed and made the most of every role which came her way both in Ireland and Australia.

At the age of 17 Marian won The All Ireland Public Speaking Competition. The following year she won The All Ireland Debating Competition. While in Dublin, Marian studied at The Betty Ann Norton Theatre School. She was a member of The Grove Players and over the years starred and performed in many award winning plays.
At the age of 28 Marian immigrated to Australia and first spent 5 years in Sydney. While there she studied ‘Stanislavski acting techniques’ and worked with ‘Chryslan Productions’, performingd in a vast array of Children’s Theatre Productions.

In 1987 Marian came to Perth for The America’s Cup, she fell in love with the place, her now husband Niall and has lived here ever since. Since being in Perth Marian has performed in more than 50 plays and has won various awards for acting. She has performed with “The Irish Theatre Players’, ‘The Stirling Players’, ‘The Blarney Players’(Theatre Restaurant), ‘The Wembley Writers Group’, ‘Playlovers’ and ‘A Lad Insane Productions’. Recently she has been involved in a few short Films (Including “Fixed” a Tropfest finalist in 2014) and voice over and TV advertisements. With this move towards film Marian now looks forward and hopes to continue her acting career on screen.
